What this notice covers
The website database.mastertuning.it and the MasterTuning Vehicle Database app for iPhone and Android. Sections that apply only to the app are marked as such.
What we collect
If you only browse the catalogue — on the website or in the app — we ask you for nothing and you do not need to register.
If you request a quote we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), the vehicle you indicate, the workshop you choose, any preferred appointment day and the message you write.
If you create an account in the app we collect your name, email address, a password stored in encrypted form, and your phone number if you provide it.
If you save a vehicle in the app's Garage we store the vehicle you picked from the catalogue and, only if you choose to enter them, the number plate, year of registration, mileage and a name you give the car. These are optional: the app works without them.
If you enable notifications we store a technical identifier that your phone assigns to the app. It is not your phone number and does not identify you: it only allows messages to be delivered.
The app uses no cookies and contains no advertising or profiling tools. Your preferences (chosen language, recently viewed vehicles) stay on your phone and are not sent to us.
Why we process them, and on what legal basis
- Answering quote requests and arranging appointments — needed to provide the service you asked for (Art. 6.1.b, EU Regulation 2016/679).
- Running your account and Garage — same basis: without that data the account cannot exist.
- Sending notifications about your cars (for example when the power figures of your engine change) — on the basis of the consent you give by enabling them, which you can withdraw at any time in your phone settings.
- Marketing communications — only with separate consent, withdrawable at any time.
The number plate
A number plate is personal data: it identifies a vehicle and, indirectly, its owner. We therefore process it only if you enter it yourself, use it only so you can recognise your own car inside the app, never disclose it, and never match it against third-party databases. You can delete it at any time by removing the vehicle from your Garage.
Who we share data with
Quote requests are passed to the MasterTuning workshop you chose, so it can answer you. Otherwise data is not disclosed, sold or transferred to third parties. We use technical suppliers who process data on our behalf and on our instructions: the server provider (located in the European Union) and the push notification delivery service, which is required for the message to reach your phone.
How long we keep them
- Quote requests: as long as needed to handle them, and afterwards for the tax and legal obligations of the workshop.
- Account and Garage: as long as you keep the account. If you delete it, they go immediately.
- Notification identifiers: as long as notifications are enabled or the app is installed.
How to delete everything
In the app: Garage → Delete account. Two taps, no need to write to us. Your account, the vehicles in your Garage and your device identifiers are deleted. Quote requests already sent remain with the workshop as commercial records: to have those deleted too, write to [email protected]. If you no longer have the app installed you can ask for deletion from this page: Delete your account and data.
Your rights
You may ask us at any time to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its processing, receive it in a machine-readable format, and object to processing. You may withdraw consent without affecting what was done beforehand. If you believe the processing breaches the Regulation you may lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it).
Children
The app and the website are not aimed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
